Tuppen - Sussex Shepherds

My first post !  My apologies for any current or future transgressions.

I am looking at the Tuppen families (many of them shepherds).

I know of 5 generations of William Tuppen ( bapt appx 1680-1690 through to 1787) and am particularly keen to find if there is a link to 2 other Williams bapt 1680/81 and 1636.

If your Tuppen family were from Sussex in England it would be best for you to post your question on the Sussex board on rootschat.
One of our moderators hopefully will move your post onto the Sussex Board for you were other rootschatters knowlegable in Sussex Family History will be hopefully able to help you in your search.
(I`m going by the birth dates you have for your William Tuppens  )
If your Tuppen family came to Australia at some time and if your after information about them here in Aus then by all means post on the Aussie board.

Last night I gave a talk to the Lewes History Group on the tombstones to be found in St John Sub Castro, and I am sure Tuppen came up in the conversations later in the evening - bear with me and I will check my databases for you

Have checked the databases i have for Lewes, and at the moment can only spot 1 Williams bapt, but its a bit late for your research - its been transcribed as Tupper, but am sure it is supposed to be Tuppen.

The biggest problem is that Sussex is a county densely populated with people who over the centuries have had their surnames transcribed as Tuppen, Tupper, Tuppin, and  occasionally Turpin, any of which could come from your ancestral line.  Loads of us at this end would love to assist so could you tell us the name and either birth or marriage details of the last ancestor you are certain of and if possible add the Sussex parish they came from. 
For example, a William Tuppen, baptised 1680, son of William appears in Rottingdean (then a downland parish with sheep in abundance) but was he yours?   With info like that, many of us will be able to start digging into the local records on your behalf.
