Grandfather.. can't find him!!!

Hi there, I haven't got much information but I'm looking for my Grand-dad and his parents (he died in 1954, way before my time) My grand-dad's name is David Hughes Davies.
I've managed to get his second Marriage certificate on The 18th February 1942 which he was 43 which by my maths he would have been born in 1889 (no idea of date), his father's name is John Davies, and according to the marriage certificate of David Davies, he was a spinner in a woollen factory.(but had died by 1942) What I've gathered he was born in Saron, near Newcastle Emlyn.  I've been looking on census etc, but can't find anything. Any help to point me in the right direction would be really great, as I'm stuck!!  Thanks very much

If he was 43 in 1942 he would have been born around 1899.

Well spotted NJ - so it isn't the one I found, just a coincidence.

He could be the right one (lots of details fit) and the OP has got the age/year muddled.........I've done it so many times I always try to remember to check and double check.
