Have a Mary FARRANT born abt 1854 who married Edward Cudd Kensington.

Any researchers who can help with Farrant family would be appreciated.

Thanks John

Have you checked freeBMD? A Mary Farrant was registered Q June 1854 in the Honiton civil registration district which includes Sidbury. You could order a copy of her birth certificate to get both parents [and her mother's maiden name]

There is also a Mary Jane born in the Q Sept

What evidence do you have that she married?

The way you typed your query gives the impression the groom's name was Kensington but they were married at the Kensington civil registration district Q Dec 1877. If you order a copy of the marriage certificate it will confirm the name of Mary Farrant's father [and help you to decide whether it was Mary or Mary Jane born in 1854]

Edward and Mary's marriage 3 Nov 1877 at St Paul's Paddington shows her father as Samuel Farrant a labourer and Edward's as John Cudd, deceased.  ? maker
Both Edward and Mary gave their address as 49 Waverley road. She a spinster age 22, he a bachelor age 26. One of the witnesses an E Cudd. Possibly her mother Elizabeth? Mary is with her parents Samuel and Elizabeth n 1861

Here is another Farrant marrying a Cudd but the father of this Cudd is James not John although that could be a mistake as the father of Edward Cudd was dec so maybe William couldn't remember his name.
26 Aug 1867 Pars of St Mark marylebone
William Cudd bachelor 22 father James an engine fitter
Elizabeth Ann Farrant age 20 spnster father Samuel a gardener
Both living at 6 Hiburn Priory.
Wtnesses Alfred Albert Wetslake and George Clark

Could this Elizabeth Farrant be Mary's sister? The age is right.

1881 RG11/2135/41/12
Spring Garden Sidbury Devon
Samuel Farrant 70 Branscombe Devon,
Betsy Farrant  wife 69 Sidbury Devon
Frances Farrant dau single 36 Sidbury
Henry Farrant  5 grandson Sidbury

I can't find a marriage for a Samuel Farrant to an Elizabeth/Betsy/Betty sept 1/4 1837 - Dec 1842 on FreeBMD. Then FreeBMD started playing up so had to leave it.
