James SLINGER a WW1 soldier
« on: Monday 16 July 12 22:55 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have James Slinger in their tree?
Regimental number 73101, he was in the 8th Brigade of the
ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY, entered the theatre of war 19 Aug 1914.
Around the edge of his Victory medal - GNR J.SLINGER RA
I have no other information, just his medal found in an empty house
in Bethnal Green, London.  And inside a slip of paper see scan,
maybe reads Mrs Campion, 2 Aubis Street.
But he may have come from up north.
One reader of my original post (see link below) suggested James
may have been a PRE WAR regular soldier
and that I should try posting on the Lancashire and Yorkshire boards.
