Death Certificate
« on: Tuesday 17 July 12 12:23 BST (UK) »
I notice when looking to order a death certificate that it is recommended to purchase a printout of the certificate as it says it has more information but could someone tell me what would be included on this?

What information will the ordered certificate or printout contain?
A printout, up to 1998, will generally be a scanned image of the record so will contain all the information that was provided at the time the event was registered. A certificate has less information and is generally used for legal purposes. See Data Collected.

It can depend on the time period you are after what information is on the cetificate and the layout varies

What time period are you after and we can list the columns that you would find on the printout

A printout is a copy of the information from the registration, and usually used for research purposes, it is either handwritten or typed.
A certificate is a legal document.
