might be a better idea to start the search with the baptisms of the children... i.e. dates, parish etc might be helpful in the marriage search

do you have details of baptisms already ?

Possible Civil births are included for a number of Owen and Mary's children between about 1864 and 1866 on FamilySearch - see :

   Duffy/Boylan births

The first two children were born in Co. Kildare - which seems very familiar ... have I searched for these before ?

you need a birth cert for one of the children to show an occupation for William.

If those extracted civil births are the correct family, which seems very likely, then the marriage was possibly in Co. Kildare...

Do you think he was Irish or English ?

Is it possible that he married in England as I can't see anything for a Duffy / Boylan marriage in Ireland.

Also do you have the marriage of their son Owen ?
