Theodore B Ratcliffe 1795-1824 approx
« on: Tuesday 17 July 12 20:13 BST (UK) »
Hit a wall tracing with this one tracing my family back and wonder if anyone can suggest anywhere I can look.

Theodore Ratcliffe is named on his daughter, Elizabeth's, marriage certificate as a butcher with a middle name of Belpide. Thought it would be easy to find more info like his birth etc but no joy. Another suggestion for a middle name was Balfour. As far as I can work out, Theodore died in Blackburn in 1824 but again I have no additional info.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks for your quick reply. This is the record I got the Balforth from, the actual certificate says Belpide. Even allowing for these being different, I would have thought Theodore would have been an easier name to search - wrong!

The majority of records seem to have it as Belford including his own burial. However, Belforth, Belfour and Belfourd are also there  ::)   They are not making life easy are they?

Can you tell me where to find the birth and burial records, please? Thanks. Further down the tree towards me, the family consists of John Smith and similar all in Blackburn!!! Oh to have an exotic name. ;)

www.lan-opc.org.uk

Either type Theodore Ratcliffe into the name and surname box and leave everything else blank or type Ratcliffe into the surname box and just the first name of Theodore into the Fathers name box.
