Slip of paper found with a soldier’s WW1 medal in Bethnal Green, London
but he probably came from up north maybe Lancashire or Yorkshire.
Seems to read “Mrs Campion 2 Aubis Street” ???
Trying to find relatives of soldier James SLINGER
Regimental number 73101 on edge of his Victory medal.
He served in the  8th Brigade of the
ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY, entered the theatre of war 19 Aug 1914.
Around the edge of his Victory medal - GNR J.SLINGER RA

I wonder if it might be Aubro Street, as an abbreviation for Auborough. According to the thread at http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,250298.msg1383053.html#msg1383053 it looks as though there was such a street in Scarborough - and Google produces a few other examples.

If it is Scarborough, then Campion is certainly a surname that's found there.
