Bushey Marriages ALLEN

I am having problems in sorting out who married whom in Bushey on 25/12/1877
I have Joseph ALLEN, Emma KING, John HAYES & Mary Ann COOMES
Can anyone help please with a look up

Hi.

I have Joseph Allen 1881 census living with his wife Emma and two sons Joseph and William in Watford.

Occupation Railway Labourer. Therefore Emma King would be his wife.

Birth Date - 8 Jan 1879
Christening Date - 28 Sep 1879
Christening Place: Bushey, Hertfordshire, England
Father - Joseph Allen
Mother - Emma King

Hopefully this is the family you are researching.

Many thanks for the 2 postings in response to me message.

The problem is that when looking at marriages on Ancestry there are 2 on 25/12/1877
1) Joseph ALLEN aged 19 son of James married Mary Ann COOMES aged 24 dau of Henry

2) John Hayes aged 29 son of John married Emma KING aged 20 dau of Henry

These 2 marriages do not tie up with the 1881 Census or the birth of Joseph Allen baptised 28/9/1879 where his parents were Joseph ALLEN & Emma KING

I suspect a transcription error on Ancestry and would appreciate it if there is someone who can look at the parish registers to see what was originally recorded. Unfortunately I do not live near Hertford.

Mr Allen is a Railway Labourer in Watford Fields with wife Emma

My thoughts are that the parish registers may have been written up wrong or as I previously mentined transcribed wrong. The part I dont understand is that the 2 problem marriages are on different pages on the BMD. I believe that Allen married King and Hayes married Coomes. I have looked at some family trees that have Coomes in them and most of those seem to be quesswork.

Any thoughts.

As I mentioned I am in the wilds of Somerset and a trip to Hertford is not possible in the next few months. I am originally from Watford and descended from the Allens through my grandmother Jessie Edith Allen b 22/6/1893
