for reference here's John & Lucy in 1911

  Reid household - 1911

John age 30 (c1881), born 'Dublin' - could mean the city or county....

there are 11 single, RC John Reids of about the right age (i.e. 20 +/-5) in Dublin city & county in 1901 (see : link) including the one Tara mentioned.

Due to parents names, I think they can all be eliminated as possible matches for your John other than the ones in Malpas Street, and  Obertown- see : link

This is his baptism, civil registration gives same address  and year (12/11/1879) but Patrick as father.

I  think  North Dublin more likely than Malpas because I haven't come across a Teresa within my searching (yet anyway).
I certainly have some more leads to follow up. Thank you both

Hi Paula

Good news for you................the Malpas Street John that Shane mentioned is the correct one

John is listed as brother in law to Michael Lee, Michael Lee's wife was Teresa Reid

Here is the baptism of 5 of their children

lee / reid baptisms

& the marriage of one of their children
