Ludlow Burial records
« on: Saturday 21 July 12 16:57 BST (UK) »
Seeking a persons burial details in Ludlow, as its in last 20 years I am withholding name as likely living descendants still in area.

Is there online records for graveyards in Ludlow ?

Planning a visit there in next couple of months so even if not then graveyards used since since 1992 then would be a help.

Thanks

Ludlow Town Council
Ludlow Town Council Cemetery. ... H e n l e y R o a d C e m e t e r y Ludlow Henley Road Cemetery. History: Henley Road Cemetery opened in 1914.

Web
http://www.ludlow.gov.uk/Contents/Text/Index.asp?SiteId=817&SiteExtra=1562671&TopNavId=508&NavSideId=13328

Hand written records are held at the Town Council offices and are available to view by request Mon-Fri  9:30-4pm.

May be worth a phone call to check records, have you considered deceased may have been cremated

Thank you

Always the possibility but do know the date so will focus on cemetry first and after that then on crematoria.

Hi

If HP has access to the burial info you require, you can contact him by personal message, thus keeping the sensitive info private.

Thanks for the suggestion and reply.

Did consider asking HP to look bu then realised it would be an ideal opportunity to revisit Ludlow  :) and partake in some of the food the area has to offer.

The manual on tracing long lost family members omitted that bit about enjoying nice food when you doing research  ;D

There are numerous graveyards in Shropshire that have had their stones indexed by the Shrop Fam. Hist. Soc. These are available at Shropshire Archives, near the directories & after the rows of shelves on the left as you go in.

The M.I.'s indexed by Salop FHS are for graves with headstones only, they are not a complete burial record, no headstone .. not on index. You need to search the actual burial records as I originally suggested.
