Lockhart - location ID *Completed*
« on: Wednesday 25 July 12 05:34 BST (UK) »
G'day all ... below is a part of the marriage 'cert' of John Lockhart (m. 1865)
my 2 questions are ...
re John Lockhart - he is manager of Iron ???? - I can't make out the word after Iron
and ... about Christina's name is it Christina or is the 'scribble' at the end of her name significant, maybe Christination? (was there such a name?)

... any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated ... thanks

"Manager, Iron Store", I think ... and the squiggle is, I suspect, the lower loop of the "L" ... so her name was just Christina Lockhart, maiden surname McDougall ...

Is this a marriage, or a death certificate?  "maiden surname McDougall" has "(Deceased)" after it ...  ???  Or, because I can't see the column headings, am I reading things out of context?
I live in Sydney, Australia, and I'm researching: Powell, Tatham, Dunbar, Dixon, Mackwood, Kinnear, Mitchell, Morgan, Delves, & Anderson

I agree with everything Deb said - "Iron Store" and "Christina"

Doesn't that column show the groom's parents?

... yes, now I can "see" that it is Iron Store ... many thanks for the help on that.

... and in answer to the deceased question ... it is John Lockhart (manager of iron store) wife who is deceased (she is M.S McDougal) and they are recorded on the marriage 'cert' of their son, also named John when he marries Janet Smith ... John snr is my great x2 Grandfather

... again, many thanks for the help  :)
