Susannah Loader - b Portsmouth abt 1812
« on: Thursday 26 July 12 13:38 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to trace the origins of my 3x great grandmother Susannah Loader who was born in or around Portsmouth about 1812.

What little facts I do know are that she married Benjamin Pavey on January 21st 1834 in Wyke Regis, near Weymouth, Dorset and it looks like she was already living in Weymouth by this time. They both appear on the 1851 and 1861 census living in Weymouth Dorset and it looks like Susannah spent a month in Dorchester Prison in 1853 for assaulting a constable. All three of these records give her place of birth as Portsmouth abt 1812 but I haven't been able to trace her birth or family yet.

Do any of you lovely Roots people have this lady in your trees or can anybody shed any light on her early years and/or family in Portsmouth.

Where did you find the details of the children and their baptisms please Kim? I think there may have been another  daughter too - Sarah, baptised at Cowes 4 November 1823.

The info came from the Baptism (1754-1841) and Marriage Indexes(1660-1837) transcribed by Hampshire Gen:Soc:

They do not cover the Isle of Wight and I think Sarah is right, fills the gap between 1820 and 1828 nicely, could be another one ? :)

:)Hi Kim, Sorry but Charlotte and Ellen A were not the children of William and Suzanna Turl. Know there were 3 families very similar around the same time. Regards

Thanks for the additional information NFF... all good and getting me closer to a proven tree. I'm hoping I have the others correct now.
