The Northwalesbmd does give quite a few Margaret Davies's married at St Asaph but they are all civil marriages and there doesn't appear to be a church wedding on FindMyPast.

You could request a marriage certificate stating that you only want it if the father is Daniel Davies, you have to pay up front but if there are no matches your money is refunded.  You could try ringing the Registry office for St Asaph which looks as though it is in Rhyl and asking them if they do look ups and what they need in information and what they charge.  The people in Wrexham office have always been very good when I have been there.

Hello Valerie

I'm a bit puzzled by this:

my mums birth certificate also shows no Fathers name they knew the father but she was not married in 1920 hence no Fathers name .

Was Margaret Davies, your Mum's mother's sister?

Do you have any information at all about when Margaret died?  Or even Daniel's death date - there might be an obituary which might list her.

Just trying to save you a few pounds!

Added - also see http://yourarchives.nationalarchives.gov.uk/index.php?title=Welsh_Colony_in_Patagonia

Hello brevitas,
The quote was in reply to something Wilcoxon put up about his search and I answered him,not relevant to Margaret Davies.
I don't know when Margaret died as I am trying to trace her but I do not know her married name,I do have Daniels death certificate but she would not be mentioned as she went to Pattagonia between 1911 and 1920, and until I find her marriage certificate she is lost to me.
I can trace the family except her.
Regards Val
