Royal Jubilee Hospital Victoria BC
« on: Tuesday 31 July 12 20:45 BST (UK) »
Can anyone tell me a brief history of this hospital. One of my English cousins who immigrated to Canada in 1898 died there in 1955. Would it have looked like this picture then please?

Here's a link to an entry at Wikipedia about the hospital:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Jubilee_Hospital

I found these documents at the Vancouver Island Health Authority website:

There's also some information about the history of the hospital at the Victoria Heritage Foundation website:

Thanks Jacquie. His name was Arthur Perrey who  supplied horses to the army. I know the land he had, which I cannot quite understand.  He originally supplied horses to the army and the land was near Lethbridge and I have seen St. Mary River Blood Reserve on maps.google. Cannot find anything on on supplying horses?
His brother was William Richard Perrey and he founded The Highland valley copper mines, but did not know how to Excavate the copper, so sold his share to his partner Mr Chataway for $180.
Thanks again ivor

At the site given above, you can find information on the Western Land Grants

There are land grant applications for Jane Perrey, William Richard Perrey and Arthur T Perrey but it is hard to determine what dates are involved and if they actually got the grants and used the land. I don't have the expertise to help there but you might be able to contact LAC for more info.

The residence of Arthur and Jane in 1906 and 1911 shows land grant applications for
Gilbert P. Ashe
North Western Coal and Nav Coy Limited
Calgary and Edmonton Land Coy Ltd
Minerals other than Golf and Silver

There isn't a land claim for that piece of land under Arthur, Jane or William Perrey

It appears that the Perrey's lived in both Alberta and British Columbia as the deaths are in BC.

You can access the death info at
www.deathindexes.com/canada.html

or
https://familysearch.org

I used only the last name Perrey and several names came up with more information at family search than the other site.
