Hello Sophie

Could this be William`s Baptisum ?

25 July 1847 son of William & Priscilla
Says Dad was a Carpenter, living Dean St.

Marriage
William Cook & Priscilla Stoner
Mar q 1847
Brighton 7 343

omega :)

You may well be correct Omega...:)
I have worked out from his age on death cert 60 years old,and he was younger than Mary Ann...that we could have the correct Baptism...
William married Mary Ann Towner in 1874...btw they had three other children according to IGI

Henry,William,and James...

but first I need to find out if William Cook had any siblings, and if they  were married so as I can see if they had any daughters...to be able to find M A Goacher the niece of my gt.gt.grandmother Mary Ann Towner...

Am I confused or what...especially with the info Tony below has given me...!!! but I'll try and work his info out if I can...

You say William Cook died 1907 was 60 (FreeBMD) so birth year c1847.
I searched FreeBMD 1846-1848 for William's birth, and found 3 possibles in Brighton area.

1851 Brighton census index for a 5 to 3 year old William Cook, father William gives:
William born c1847 to William (1823 of Brighton) and Emma (1826 of Lindfield) siblings Frederick 1849 & Henry 1851.
William born 1848, no parents present.
William born 1847, father William (born Midhurst c1819) no mother present, Sibling Jane b c1849.

1861 Brighton census index now states William E Cook born c1847 is the son of William (1823 of Brighton) and Emma (1826 of Lindfield) siblings Frederick 1849 & Henry 1851, Jane 1859.  The 'E' has made me deduce this is your William.

1871 Brighton census index: he is still at home as are both parents, Frederic & Henry are missing and a Una born c1868 may be with the family.

Censuses differ in 1881.  The LDS 1881 census index has William and wife Emma, with a child found in 1871 called Una, but now down as Elna.

Roy G...wonderful...I have also been working all afternoon on William Cook and family along side both you and Omega..I have found what you both have, because this morning,I re registered with Genes Reunited, and paid for a Platinum subscription,so that I might help myself,as well as asking for help...
As someone said the other day...I would have to pay eventually if I wanted to find more of my family history...so I went ahead with the above ,and I can now search without worrying others, who could possibly help those who really need it...

I must thank you both very much for all your help, and patience with me...you did actually find some things,I did not find so that is an added bonus...

Still wondering who's daughter M A Goacher is though...
I think you have added a T into the name, but it deff says GOACHER and not GOATCHER on my gt,gt,grandmothers death cert...!!!

Thank you once again...

Sophiedog...:)
