This is my first post so please bear with me. I've hit a brick wall with Amos (Rowland) Ingram b. 1837/8 in Earls Barton (according to censuses 1861 - 1891). He died in 1892.
Despite searching on and off for 18 months, I can find no birth record, also no trace of him until the 1861 census when he is married to Elizabeth Warren (m 1856 Earls Barton).
Marriage cert states father as Mark Ingram, however Mark and his wife Elizabeth (Betsy) have no Amos living with them in the 1841 and 1851 censuses. They do however have an Agnes (b 1838) and my gt grandmother Harriet in the '41, then in the '51 they have a Thomas (b 1838) plus Harriet, Samuel and Christopher. Neither Agnes or Thomas can be found on birth or any other censuses. (There is another Thomas Ingram b 1833, son of James and Ann who can be traced forward).
I've found a non conformist christening of an 'Ann Rowland Ingram' in Finedon on 2 Jul 1837, parents Mark & Betsy Ingram.
Is it possible that mistakes were made in the names on the early censuses, and the christening as well? It seems a bit of a long shot?? Looking for any ideas, as I'm in Western Australia so am a bit stuck!
