Service Record
« on: Friday 03 August 12 21:02 BST (UK) »
Hello!

I am trying to find out some info about a relative who was in the second world war.  I have his name, service number (I think) and I know that he was a gunner.  I just wondered if anyone could give me some advice of how I could find some more about what he did/where he was posted etc?  I had a search on the internet but every site I find wants you to subscribe but I don't know if they are any good or if I would have to subscribe for months to view one record.  Can anyone please give me some advice?

Many thanks indeed :)

As he served after 1920 his service record will still be with the MOD

You will need a copy of his death certificate. Plus (ideally) his army number. Sometimes they will accept his date of birth.
