St Andrew the Less NEWMAN COMPLETED
« on: Sunday 05 August 12 06:33 BST (UK) »
I would be very grateful for a check for the following baptisms.
Henry NEWMAN 1837 (not found FreeBMD so probably before June)
Charles NEWMAN 1839 (birth reg SepQ)
Emily NEWMAN 1841 (born March, reg SepQ)

Also the burial of Emily above 1848 (death reg SepQ)

These children were born after their mother's husband was transported to Tasmania in 1835. I am anxious to know if a father was named in the records.

Hi patamac

Welcome to rootschat  :)

Emily NEWMAN 1841 (born March, reg SepQ)

Births March qtr 1841  Emily Newman     Cambridge  14 13

Sorry but I can't see baptisms for any of these children, it looks as though you will have to purchase a birth certificate.

The NBI is an index where the only additional information is the age. For any other detail you need to check the microfilm of the parish register.

The online catalogue of Cambs Archives can be found at http://calm.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/ArchiveCatalogue/SearchArchives.htm

There's an entry relating to Eliza and her son Henry at http://calm.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/ArchiveCatalogue/dserve.exe?dsqIni=Dserve.ini&dsqApp=Archive&dsqCmd=Show.tcl&dsqDb=Catalog&dsqPos=262&dsqSearch=%28%28%28text%29%3D%27newman%27%29AND%28Level%3D%27Item%27%29%29

But I can't see anything relating to bastardy of her last three children

The address given for Emily when she was buried in 1848 was just Union House.
