CATHOLIC PARISH
« on: Sunday 05 August 12 14:19 BST (UK) »
Hi
I don't know if i have asked this question before , but here goes.
Can anyone tell me in which Catholic parish does the townland of Fairymount Roscommon fall into in 1868. I know its in the civil parish of Kigefin but not sure about the Roman catholic parish.
Hope someone can help.
Many thanks
Best regards
Johnduffy

Hello,

it looks as though Fairymount is the Catholic parish:

Fairymount

However, thinking that seemed a bit too good to be true, I searched again and found an old post of yours about the same thing.  :)

Here is Ballagh church contact.

Hope this helps

According to Lewis (1837) the civil parish of Kilgefin (aka Kilbride) was in the RC parish with Clontuskert

see : Clontuskert civil parish  (Lewis)

the historic records for the parish are listed on the NLI Index under a few variations - including "Clontuskert & Kilgefin (Ballagh)" and "Kilgefin (Ballagh) (Kilrooskey)"

Film number is Pos. 4612
