Alexander Anderson born Fermanagh abt 1834
« on: Sunday 12 August 12 08:19 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for any info on Alexander Anderson born abt 1834 in Fermanagh, married to Fanny Anne Nixon 1863 in Devenish COI, enniskillen. He died in Co Donegal 7.8.1902.

Any help would be appreciated on either Alexander or Fanny,
Many thanks,
Betty

Hi,
The PRONI Will Calendars have an Alexander Anderson who died in Tobber Co. Donegal on 7 Aug 1902. It describes him as a farmer and probate was granted to Andrew N. Anderson and John Amderson, merchants.

At the time of the 1863 marriage, Alexander, son of Andrew, is from the townland of Tober in the parish of Kilbarron (Donegal).  Per Griffiths Valuation, a possible candidate for father Andrew is in Tober, Kilbarron, farming 134 acres (that's quite big).

Likewise per Griffiths Valuation, it's possible that Fanny Anne Nixon's father John has a sizeable farm - 148 acres in the townland of Drumanure, parish of Devenish, Fermanagh (at the time of the 1863 marriage she lives in Drumanure, Devenish).

Two big farming families coming together?

Thank you so much Gaffy!
I'm trying to find the connection between Thomas Anderson who died 2.8.1903 and Andrew N. Anderson (merchant) who is the son of Alexander and Fanny, as Andrew is mentioned in Thomas's Will.
