1910 US Census - New Jersey - COMPLETED WITH GRATEFUL THANKS TO SANDRA
« on: Tuesday 14 August 12 11:18 BST (UK) »
Could someone please let me have the extra details on the original image compared to information given on familysearch.  (I do not have access to Ancestry.)

I have a Harrison Appleby aged 33 born England, his wife Alice aged 30 born England, son John Appleby age 9 born England and a daughter Elma Appleby age 5 born Pennsylvania.  Address = Camden Ward 8, Camden, New Jersey.  I am presuming the original image will give Harrison's occupation (joiner on 1901 in England), a precise address and when they emigrated to the USA.  At the moment I have not been able to find them on passenger lists between 1901 and 1910.

The family is still living in Camden, New Jersey on 1920 but in the household of James Warfel.  Harrison is a widower.  I've tried to find Alice's death but no success as yet.  If you could point me in the right direction in this regard that would be very much appreciated.

With grateful thanks.

WW1 Draft - Harrison Appleby 689 Woodland Ave. New Jersey; Occupation Carpenter for William Easterbrook. Nearest relative Mrs Warfel. 89 Perm St. Pennsgrove. New Jersey.

September 12 th 1918

Perhaps this indicates Alice had already died by this date  ???

US City Directories show the couple until 1913 and then Harrison from 1920 - haven't seen anything in between.

Hello Sandra

Thank you very much indeed for all that helpful information.  I was nearly cross-eyed last night/early morning trying to find the family on the passenger lists that are available for free.  I did find a Harrison Appleby returning to the USA in 1920 and he is the right age.

The information regarding Sarah Saxton was brilliant.  I do have a Sarah Bardy born 1844 who married an Abraham Saxton and they emigrated to the USA in the 1860s.

Thank you also for the information regarding the WW1 Draft.  All these little snippets help fill out the family history.

With many thanks again for your help.

Kind regards.

Zephyr, I found your post by googling. My husbands grandfather was Al (Elmer) Applebly. Yea, Catherine was his sister "cass". Trying to search for your original post to find out why you were searching for them. Interested :-)

Hello Cfurman0922

Sorry for the delay but have been away visiting family for the New Year.

I am researching the Bardy family from York, Yorkshire, England.  Alice Bardy married Harrison Appleby 1900 Darlington.  Her parents were Henry Bardy (born Knaresborough) and Lucy Slack (born Doncaster) both buried in York.  I like to expand on all lines of the family hence my interest in the Applebys.

If you require any information on the Bardy family, I am more than willing to share (just need to dig that particular file out!).

A Happy New Year to you and hope to hear from you soon.

With kind regards.
