OK SO,

I have sent you a PM !

the next step I suppose is, if you are trying to trace living relatives then you need to post a carefully worded message on the Liverpool board...

OR

are you looking to try and trace this family back further in Wicklow - if so we can try and help you with that here !

Let us Know

Hi there,

So, your great grandfather John F Abraham was on the 1891 England Census in Cornwall as the crew on a ship.

You should get the marriage cert (that I listed the details of earlier) of John Abraham and Mary Roe to get John's father's name and occupation.

The free index on ifhf shows a John Abraham baptised in Wicklow RC Church to a John Abraham at the correct time but as I say you will need the marriage cert to confirm his father's name !

Got Marriage cert of Christina's parents. Her grandfather was named John Abraham too.  He was a soldier. His bride Mary Roe her father was Nicholas Roe.  He was a Skipper. and Eliza Roe her mother.  We have found her grave in Rathnew (Elizas). Don't know what happened to Nicholas.  He is not buried with her.
Also got cert for a second child - John Doyle born March 1913.  His elder sister Annie Doyle born 1911 showing on 1911 census - we still don't know what happened to her?
If you can help in any way that'd be great.
Thanks,
Geraldine

It's far more difficult tracing forward, particularly with a very common surnames like Doyle...  there could be dozens of Annie Doyles around, so you would need certs for each of them to see if any of these might relate to 'your' Annie

Hi there,

Great news about the marriage cert !

That looks like the baptism for a John Abraham to a John Abraham on ifhf looks like a good possibility.

This is a pay per view site - about 5 euro for a transcription of the church baptism. You should get mother and father's name's (obviously), possibly their address at the time, and 2 sponsors.

With regards to the Roe's, I am attaching a link to children that I have found born to Nicholas Roe and Elizabeth KINSELLA - there are 2 pages on them on the link !

Hi,
Mary & John Abraham married in 1887.
Christina born 1887 dec.
Nicholas born 1890
Joseph 1896
John 1903
William 1906
Mary Jane 1909.
That's the full family. I've reason to believe Nicholas married in 1917 in West Derby - but don't know to who.
They had some children too - Catherine 1919 was eldest.
Thanks &regards,
Geraldine

I have posted information re Nicholas on your Lancashire thread

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=611115.new#new

heywood

Just read that you have already been given Nicholas' possible marriage details - the problem is that you now have two threads about the same family with the probability of duplicating the information.
