I have tried to contact the moderators about these posts, but I obviously lack the computers skills to do this. The name uksearch has been  used by myself since 1999 and to date. I object to someone using that name on this forum.

This is only a cache of my 1500 links.

uksearch is and only has been Gerard Lodge

Hi

Are you objecting to someone using a username on Rootchat that you use on other sites? I'm sure most of us have found at times that when we register with a website or forum that our preferred username is already in use and we have to pick something different. I'm not sure anyone can claim sole web wide use of a username unless possibly if it is a registered trademark

Andy

Poor you, you must be very frustrated. If you'd like me to pick another name, I can do that, you just need to ask. No advanced computer skills required - just some very basic social ones and hey, ho, problem solved.

Hiya...back to the research ..

these streets are 4 miles from my address and I know the area very well ...nicknamed "Holy land" because of the names of some of the streets ( Moses St as an example)

St Michaels in the Hamlet was a huge success when it was built ...mostly METAL ..see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Michael%27s_Church,_Aigburth

I have friends in Cockburn Street - and the names Barlow and Seddon are well known -especially Barlow ...loads of them ....
as I say - I am local to this area ,so if I can help in any way - let me know...

Garston had a Copper works 1800`s and the locals didn`t know about  working with copper - so they brought a lot of Welsh people up to Liverpool who knew how to work copper...

Hi Uksearch

It was defintely Iron that we worked with in Wales, I did find some info about ironworks etc which
is at the palmer library in Wrexham.. just need to find the time to go there and see it  :)

Your Great Grandparents are both in Toxteth Park cemetery along with John M (just put the name
of the cemetery into your search engine and it will come up). My dad and I have trawled the
place to try and find headstones and didn't manage it but I am sure I saw a Charles Ellis Barlow.
I really hope you are lucky enough to find one.

Good to hear from Garstonite that there are still lots of Barlow's in Cockburn st. My side will die out with
my dad as he only had sisters and daughters.

Will send you some stuff this week.
