1841 Census Lookup "William Thomas"
« on: Saturday 18 August 12 05:00 BST (UK) »
I am after census information for William Thomas for the 1841 census he was not with his family in the 1841
census.

In the 1851 census he is recorded as been born pembrokeshire aged 25 so for the 1841 census he should have been about 15 years.

Where is he living in ’51, ’61, ’71 etc, and where does he suggest his birth took place in the county, if not listed in ’51 does he still maintain County only in future census ?. Did he marry in Pembs, if so when and to whom ? Was his death registered in the county? What was his occupation.
Answers to the above may well help in determining locations worth researching.

I may be only guessing but it cold be around Rudbaxton or Haverforedwest

Head household could be Stephen Thomas and William Thomas listed as grand son.

A Stephen Thomas mrd Jean Owen at H’west St Mary in 1803
A Stephen Thomas mrd Anne Williams at Rudbaxton in 1800

The only baptism of a William Thomas around the time of your interest at Rudbaxton is William Hugh Thomas baptized 19 Jan 1830 to John & Elizabeth Thomas, so he is not yours.

Could your William have been baptized as an older child, not uncommon by any means, if so, 1851 to 1871 there is a William Thomas who suggests his birth was abt 1838 in Rudbaxton living with his mother Ann Thomas in the next parish to Rubaxton that of Prendergast. I can find no relevant baptism of a William Thomas at Rudbaxton circa 1838.

You have not made any mention of his mrge and home locations 1851 onwards, so just in case.  In his will of 1855 Stephen Thomas (Snr) of Camrose makes mention of Elizabeth Thomas of Bristol the widow of my son William Thomas. The will being probated in the E.C.C. of St David’s.

Camrose being the next door parish west of Rudbaxton.

I’m afraid that is the best I can come up with.
