Gilbert Zeph Buckland was born in Car martenshire or Swansea Wales on August 6Th 1884 and lived there until 1891. His Mother was Emma Buckland of Morristown, South Wales.Gilbert Z. Buckland spent 3 years with the 2ND Battalion  South wales Brigade. He emigrated to Belleville, Ontario, Canada and was employed as a Chef. Gilbert Zeph Buckland joined The 80th Battalion in Belleville on February 9Th 1916 and went to France during WW1.He became ill and was transfer ed to the Canadian Casualty Assembly Centre where he went Absent without Leave. he was found guilty and Court Marshalled on February 9, 1917 and was not heard from since. Gilbert looks to have gained his middle name after his grandfather. William, Emma and Zephaniah all born Morriston in Glamorgan, the children all born Llangennech in Carmarthenshire.

Thank you everyone for all you help. It appears the actual name is Zephaniah Gilbert Buckland  born September 1887 in Llangennech, Carmarthanshire and he died  as Gilbert Z Buckland ? in 1924 in Swansea, Glamorganshire at age 36.
 Please provide the actual date of birth in September of 1887 and date of death in 1924?

you'll only get the actual dates by buying the certificates. Bmds were sorted by quarters, so an August birth would be in the september quarter.

March quarter - jan, feb,march
June qtr - april, may, june
Sept qtr - july, aug, sept
Dec qtr - oct, nov, dec

The death was registered at Swansea. That registration district covered various parishes

Not sure if it's connected to his court martial but Gilbert's father died in the first quarter of 1917
