Married Elizabeth ROSITER 1841 in Chepstow Monmouthshire Wales
Emigrated to NZ in 1863 on HMS PORTLAND
Had with Elizabeth 6 Children Sarah b.1843, Harriet b.1845, Mary Ann b.1848, William b.1851, Israel b 1853 George b.1858. There are reports that a child (Arthur) was b 1864.
William b. 1819 fought in the Maori Land Wars with the 4th Waikato Regiment, 4th Company and 2nd Waikato Militia
Was granted 3 roods and 17 perches of land in Hamilton. It is on Victoria Street South of Rostrevor Street.
He died in Hamilton 7th February 1872 and is buried in Hamilton West Cemetery near Rugby Park
