Hi roly,

your grandmother's first name was probably Mechthild - comes from Mathilde. For the surname the only name  I could think of was "Huber". Not much help I'm afraid.

Regards Peonie

What is your grandfather's name, and (roughly) when did they marry?

There are a couple of marriages listed on FreeBMD for a Mathilde/Matilda HUBER, and the marriage cert would give you her father's name.
