Seeking any extra assistance around the White family of Scarriff circa 1850.  Is there any other way, besides the Griffith Valuation of potentially being able to learn more about who this family may be?

There is this website
https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/

Church records from NLI
It would be part of the Diocese of Killaloe
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Catholic_Diocese_of_Killaloe

I always look for the oldest people in the 1901 census and track them.

Hi

On www.irishgenealogy.com you'll see the death in Scarriff in 1890 of a Frank (normally a shortened version of Francis) White, a Shoemaker, who died in 1890, age 70.  He was married.

Regards

As stated on the first segment of this subject, I am searching my 2 x Great Grandmother Elizabeth White and her possible father Francis from Scarriff, Ireland.

What a find!  Thank you!!  I wonder if this could actually be my 3x Great Grandfather!?  Is there any advice I can search to potentially find out who his wife may be?

Hi again

When Frank died age 70 in 1890 - in the Workhouse - he was ‘married’.

Two years later, on 1 May 1892 - also in the Workhouse - Rachel White, age 70 a widower died and was described as ‘Shoemaker’s widow’

I wonder if Workhouse records are available and whether you might learn anything new.

Kind regards

Hi

Had a very quick look at the Birth Register for Scarriff and see Frank and Rachel White registered their daughter Hanora in Jan 1854, so they may have had other children, but I haven’t time to search.  You could continue the search on registers.nli.ie - choosing Scarriff - to see if this couple had other children….
