WOOTTON married Jane CROCKFORD in 1865, Victoria Reg 2532
He was born in Kent and she was the daughter of wine and spirit merchant John Edward CROCKFORD.

His wife appears to have been Mary HEARLE. I have not seen their marriage nor Jane CROCKFORD’s birth.
As stated, Edward Bushell WOOTTON took over the license of the Great Britain (Sandridge
not Richmond) in 1866.
He died in 1869. A couple of days prior, he had been found guilty of embezzlement.
At the time of this case, he was
not licensee of the Great Britain Hotel, South Melbourne.
