Could this be their child?COMPLETE
« on: Wednesday 22 August 12 17:56 BST (UK) »
My gr gr aunt Mary Vickers married Bell Benson in Mar qtr 1853 in Cockermouth.
There is the birth of a child Bell Benson reg Sep 1853 and death for this child Reg Mar 1854 in Cockermouth.
Bell Benson snr died Dec qtr 1859 in Cockermouth.
1861 census shows Mary as a widow with 3 children -----
Sarah 7, Joseph 5 and William 2
The only problem is that Sarah's birth registration is in Dec 1853 .
The reg details for the child Bell and the child Sarah are differen being in 2 different qtrs. but the name Bell Benson is not common. Is it possible that both children are theirs?

Hi Irene

The only way to be sure is to get the younger Bell Benson's birth certificate   :)

Given the date & place and unusual name, he is probably related even if he is not their son!

So it isnt such an unusual name after all. I think the baptism of 1854 could be the one I have found born in 1853
Bell Benson had a sister Eleanor who would have been 39 when the child Bell Benson was baptised in 1854. Some of his siblings were born in Bassenthwaite per Family search.

Thank you
Irene
