There is a public tree on ancestry.com who have his parents as Harry riches and Harriet?

You may be able to access ancestry.com at your public library.

Added: when I tried to access this tree ancestry told me that it couldn't be accessed either because they were having technical difficulties or the owner may have removed it.

This looks like it could be Harry and Harriet's marriage.

There is a second tree on ancestry which can be accessed. It has the same parents and place of birth and a death in 1981 in Surrey.

The free 1911 index has a Leonard Riches b 1910 living in Docking

1911 lookups are not allowed on Rootschat so you may find some info by following the instructions below

USING THE FREE 1911 INDEX TO DETERMINE THE CORRECT HOUSEHOLD

http://www.1911census.co.uk/search/tnaform.aspx

Once you find a possible match - make a note of the county and district in which the person was living

Return to the index and in PERSONAL DETAILS - just put the surname of the family - nothing else

In LOCATION - Select the county and below it - type in the district

In OTHER MEMBERS OF THE HOUSEHOLD - show the full name of the person you have found on the index

Click SEARCH

The 1911 census is strictly pay per view so you will have to buy credits to view the full entry - the above instructions will only help to possibly show others of the same surname in the same household

There is a Thomas and Miriam Riches aged in their 60's living next door.

Also ancestry transcribed them as Rickes and someone put in a correction in 2005 so there are others out there researching this family

Good afternoon Anthony.

I have just suddenly come across this after being told about your post.

my maternal side and my great nan was Mahala Mary Riches from Dodds Hill Dersingham. She had three children including my nan, but one of her children. The oldest was called Leonard riches who married Peggy Pattingdale they went on to have one child called Patricia.

Does this match anything that you have?
