Well Joy is a family history expert, I imagine she and or OH have researched the Murrin Name pretty well and MAY have a line on the family of OP. ???

Neil ::)

Neil of course you are correct...anyone with such qualifications would check out similar names.

Cheers  :)

I read your posting regarding Thomas Murrin and Mary Ann Millman.  I am the second great grand son of Thomas and Mary Ann Murrin.  Thomas was born 1824 in Stowford, married in 1850 at Calstock, died 1895 Moonta South Australia.  In April I visited Moonta and gained more insight into the family.   I am also the husband of Joy Murrin who is an Accredited Transcription Agent with NSW Registry of BDM.

How are you connected with the family?

Hi Allan  :)

Welcome to rootschat :)

I note from the OP's profile that she lives in Spain.

If you make two more posts you can use the personal messaging system to contact her, however I am sure she will respond to the information posted here and your post.

My OH's family, both maternal and paternal, also settled on Yorke Peninsula and in the Copper Triangle when they emigrated to Aus from Ireland and England.  It was his suggestion that I research his family - I think he was tired of hearing about mine ;)  We found the cemeteries were well tended and graves very easy to locate with the maps available on the Copper Coast council websitem and OH an excellent 'grave spotter' ;D

Hi Allan, When I posted Joy's website I was unsure if you were connected with the original post on this thread. It is great to see you are and can connect with the original poster looking for information.

I was fairly sure you would have information on a lot of the Murrin Clan.

Cheers

I'm afraid I don't know of any photos of the Devon side of the Murrin family, but I will certainly ask.
Researching the names Mckenzie / Mackenzie from Ross and Cromarty especially Scoraig and Rherivach.

The names Fraser, MacGillivary and Grant from Daviot & Dunlichity.

The name of Fraser from Lanarkshire.

The name of Bell from Northumberland.

The name Chilla / Chylla / Chyla from Poland.
