I see that you have added information to your original post, the problem with the tree on Ancestry is that Williams parents on the tree are David Barbour and Elizabeth Martin, and the birth registration of Williams sister Margaret (Maggie) seems to confirm that.

Do you have any positive information about William & Agnes after their marriage. Knowing your connection might help to work out the family.

I first found out about William and Agnes within the last week when I found the marriage register for Margaret Barbour and William Horner in Westchester county, NY.  Margaret and William are my mother's paternal grandparents.  For the last year and a half I'd been chasing after different sets of Horners and Barbours ... then my uncle with his photographic memory came to visit and started checking off a batch of things that weren't right.   :P
