Can you be more specific as to what information you are looking for.

You could contact the public library. They have a genealogy/research section.

www.halifaxpubliclibraries.ca

Also, there is an online book covering the career of a member of the 88th Regiment of Foot (Connaught Rangers) from the 1830's to his retirement in the 1870's.

Hi thanks for the reply,
I'm not looking for anything specific at the moment, just any mention of the Connaught Rangers, names etc,a report of a large fire that occurred at camp in 1851.On a more personal note,I'm clutching at straws and hoping there maybe a mention of why my 4xgg[Michael Danaher] was in the police force while stationed there.Would there be any records of BMD's within the camp anywhere?

I have a copy of the book you mention.

Thank you again
