I don't think our Moses Blair's match. The names and dates for his parents are different- John Blair was born in 1788 and died in the winter of 1850 according to the 1851 Census for Carrowcowan (Carrycowan). That census listed his widow Mary with her children including Moses. From marriage records for these Blair children, Mary's maiden name was recorded as Paul. She was born in 1792 and died 23 March 1869 in Carrowcowan near Martinstown, Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

ksbg195:  I originally thought that the Moses Blair you list in your post (your ancestor I assume) was the same Moses Blair in my family son of John Blair and Mary Paul. My mind is still open to that theory as there seem to be many similarities between the two. The only concern I have is that the Moses you name was definitely a son of John Blair and Mary Ramsey. Has anyone in (your?) Blair ancestry/family ever done a DNA test which could help solve the problem?

I've had my DNA done but there's really nothing that far back to connect it to.
I don't show a Mary Paul anywhere in my research.

Did you do your test on Ancestry?  You could send me a private message with your username and I could compare. I match a lot of Blairs and I have also transferred my Ancestry results to Family Tree DNA (FTDNA), Gedmatch and My Heritage. You might not match me but possibly you do match my other Blair distant cousins. It can go back a long way in time. Thanks.
