   thankyou Victoria... I had that in my mind most the time he was a Charles Henry Smith  silly man giving the registrar wrong way round.. I have been looking at census and I hope the one I found living at 24 Rupert street Reading Berkshire is MY family. need know to get birth certificate and I can write up more on my tree  his Mum was Emma and father charles but cant find a marriage certificate looking about 1865ish well more time I expect I will find it.... I have these fits of doing my tree and this weekend has been one of them I do have a tree on ancestry...  Ann Orwin  nee Smith
