James Doel death look up please Portsea?1871>
« on: Saturday 01 September 12 22:17 BST (UK) »
Hi all, I am seeking hopefully the death details of James Treleven Doel (Dole) who was last noted in 1871 census living in Wellington Row,Portsea,Portsmouth. His wife is found next census 1881 back in Frome ,Somerset and shown as widowed. All normal sites does not show James's death he was born 1830 in Stoke Damerell(Devonport) Plymouth and his death has eluded me!

the only one i can see is in frome somerset in 1877 3rd qtr vol 5c page 298
but his birth is down as 1808
i had a look for a james doel born c 1808 on the 1871 census in somerset but the only one i could see was in the reg dist of
shepton mallet and he dies in that dist in 1872
the point i am trying to make is maybe the death in 1877 in frome is him and his age has been put down wrong
you would have to get the death cert of this person to find out if it is your man

According to your public tree (A...y) . . . . ..

James' mother Hannah (Anna) Treleaven Father Richard Doel,  back to 1744.
Was "Treleaven" his actual recorded (somewhere) name or have you quoted it for assistance?

He married twice (that you found) so he may have gone for a third?
Maria Cosh & Emma Cosh, were they sisters?

He worked in an iron foundry according to multiple census,  very dangerous places

Regards
Ray

Hi,yes that's my family tree on there that I have posted, lol.Recorded on a earlier probate will was printed James Treleaven Doel, so I guessed he was given his mothers maiden name as his middle name .
