Hiya Chris,

that would mean that you are starting to look for living relatives that I'm afraid we can't do on this site.

I think tho that you have stated that most went abroad, so have you tried on the relevant boards for where they went ?

Also have you tried the 1939 Dublin Electoral Roll for any that may have stayed in Dublin, but you would need to know their names etc.

Tara

Hello Tara

I will be away for a few weeks, but when I get back I will take your advice and look on the appropriate boards together with the Dublin Electoral Roll for some of his relatives

Many thanks again

Peter Martin was born in Wicklow in 1878 and joined the 2nd Battalion Worcester Regiment at about age 18. He married my great aunt Catherine O'Toole who was also born in Bray Wicklow. If you contact me by private mail I can give a lot of information.
Dublin : King, Burgess, Toole, Martin, Keogh
Wicklow : Toole, Burgess, , Mc Loughlin, Doyle,  Warren,
Armagh: Reynolds Vallely
Monoghan: Burgess
Keogh. Delgany : Doyle White and possibly McLoughlin
Carlow: Dillon, Delaney
Unknown county: Sweeney and Moran. Sweeneys went to Lpool 1840s and Michael Moran 1820s

Hello petal01

I now definitely know that the person I am researching was born in 1878 and married to Catherine O'Toole, as shown in the reply from dillonking. Seems that there were at least two Peter Martins working for Guinness! Thanks anyway for your kind reply :)

Peter Martin was also known as Peter Grady. His mother was Margaret Martin who was born on 27 November 1845 in New Monkland, Lanarkshire, Scotland. His stepfather was Daniel Grady. Peter Martin's father was William Martin 1819-1852 who was killed in a mining accident. He had moved to Scotland from Ireland to work in the iron mines there. William's son, Peter (Patrick) Smith Martin emigrated to the USA and died in Utah in 1907
