That 1901 census is a possibility.  I will look now.  A hired help such as a nurse may not have reported her own details for the census.  There is not another Ada (J) that would fit the birth registration for 1869 so perhaps her age was given wrong.

In respect of the 1919 visit we had noticed that too Sandra - and made the same comment on the Nurse comment.  The image on Ancestry suggests that lady is going to London.

So from the info to date it looks like Ada Jane Ashford was in Birmingham UK in 1881, possibly in Handsworth as a nurse in 1891, then is in Canada in 1907 although not sure if yet married, then in Medicine Hat as a widow in 1911 as Ada J Kilpatrick, possibly visiting the UK as a nurse in 1919 and returning to Winnipeg in 1921, with a trip to Sydney to visit T Ashford thereafter before returning to Canada from Sydney in 1926.

Great info to date thanks.

There is a voyage in 1907 of a Mrs A Kilpatrick, who is married.
Departing Southampton for New York 23 Oct 1907, she was on the
"ADRIATIC".

This is a very poor ships passenger list, and I was wondering if anyone could get access to the ADRIATIC on the New York Incoming Passenger Lists,
in the hope that there might be better information.....

I was really looking for a 1907 voyage to Winnipeg or Vancouver, but I don't think entry to Canada via New York can be dismissed.        It is a long shot
and it probably isn't her!

Thank you, Lisa.          I think that the 1907 to 1910 period may be about right.
If Ada knew about all these messages,  she'd be in hysterics!!!       She has led us all a merry dance!!!      All round the world...

You're welcome.  It is a challenge, isn't it.

For some reason I can't shrink the link but from the British Columbia Directory (1927)
Kilpatrick Mrs A J   r 541 Burrard.
Appears to be in Vancouver.
Possibly not the same A J, but  :-\

Looking around the internet... 1904 Newspaper
Druggist - As Manger...541 Burrard street, Vancouver.

Thank-you all

Are there any Canadian death registrations for an Ada J Kilpatrick after 1927 or newspaper reports?

Canada has strict privacy laws.  It is difficult to obtain "personal" information.  Each province has its own vital records, unfortunately.

Off topic for a moment - a bit about the Ada Jane mentioned in 1908 Langham

--------------
I've been trying various searches, trying to find out more about Ada Jane and have not been too successful.  There are a couple of people who have found newspaper articles - perhaps they may find something.

In the meantime, if you have not already done so, you could try internet searches for combinations of words including: her full name, her surname and then first name, surname and initials, her occupation, places she lived, town in which she was born, etc.
