Surname help?- Completed
« on: Wednesday 05 September 12 16:37 BST (UK) »
Could anybody kindly have a go at telling me what the surname of Thomas was from the 1851 census for Rastrick?

It looks like it begins with an "E" and ends in "s" but after that I haven't a clue.

I only ask because his family occupied the same farm or farms as my ancestor so it is possible that their was a family connection.

It looks like Eyres to me.  You have to remove the fancy D written below that cuts through the bottom part of the y in Eyres.

Many thanks to both of you, now to search for that family connection, if there is one?
