1924 Herbert Wooder Birth search COMPLETED

I'm doing some reasearch for a work colleague, who wishes to trace his deceased fathers birth, supposedly in the IOM.

Name: Herbert Cabury WOODER
DOB: 17 October 1924.

Can I access them online? I'm on Find My Past but I don't think they have IOM indexes.

The family history society have produced them.

If you mean Lawson's BMD on IOMFHS website, that only goes up to 1901 for births ...

And just to confuse things - I am aware of a possible cousin of the above, with a very similar name: Herbert Clague WOODER dob 4 April 1930 location unknown.  The dob date came from the death index record.

is http://www.manxbmd.com/ of use tho at moment seems very slow
just got thru - looks as tho they also stop 1901 - general registry is your only option - see under www.gov.im - they don't accept cards and under new staff you will probably have to pay both for a search + a cert

Many thanks for that.  I'm checking out some contacts on Genes Reunited who appear to be relations of the said Herbert Wooders.  But yes, I'll order a Birth Cert search if all else fails.
