Gypp Family lookup
« on: Friday 27 May 05 04:19 BST (UK) »
Look up request please.

I found a listing of a death for a John Gypp, June 1871 West Ham.

The Gypp family that I am trying to trace, are originally from Suffolk.
(Father ) John Gypp, (Mother) Susanna Gypp & (Daughter) Eliza Gypp.

I would really appreciate any info.

Thank you :)

Vi

Hi Vi

Went on Free BMD and put in Gypp 1837 - 1900 the only one that seemed to fit your family was
John Gypp
Susannah Walledge
Marriage Qtr June 1852 Risbridge Suffolk 4a 504

There is another marriage for
Eliza Gypp
Arthur Starling Qtr March 1873 Risbridge Suffolk 4a 513

If you already have these sorry for duplication

Thank you Mimosa.

I did have that info. To date  I have not been able to find any other info.

I know that the family originated in Suffolk, moved to Durham and later settled in Middlesborough.

I have been trying to find the birth record for Eliza Gypp (my Great Grandmother) born approx 1850. I did send for a copy of her marriage certificate and on her marriage certificate in 1873 it lists her father as John Gypp (deceased) John Gypp and Susanna Worledge were married in 1852.

Thanks again for taking time to do the lookup for me.

Vi :)

Hi Vi

Checking through there is a birth c1849 qtr September it says that the district is R* but illegible from there and all it says for the name is Gypp, it may be worth trying to checking this out maybe with the registrar in Risbridge Suffolk, Gypp name seems to come from there, there a lot of
Gypp birth, deaths and marriages on there.
