Edward LOCKLEY and his family emigrated to USA in 1888.
They left London on board the ship Buffalo arriving New York, 27 March 1888.
The family were....
LOCKLEY Edward - b.1849 - Shoredith, England.
" Eliza - b.1847 - Fincham, Norfolk, England. (aka Minnie) - mn -Complin
" Gertrude Louisa -b. 1871 - Marylebone, England.
" Alice Mary - b.1872 - Shoreditch, England.
" James Ernest - b. 1874 - Islington, London.
" Edith Elizabeth - b. 1876 - " "
" Ethel Charlotte - b.1879 " "
" Frederick Henry - b.1881 " "
I can find the 'Lockley' family on the 1892 - New York State Census....with the exception of....Gertrude, Alice and Ethel.
I have reason to believe that they were not deceased ...because Gertrude is back in the UK in 1908, were she is married to Alfred Phillips. Gertrude is recorded as Gertrude Louisa Christy.
Alice Lockley probably never married, as I have found an Alice Lockley on the U.S Naturalization Record Indexes - 1791-1992. Date of order of Admission was March 27 1942. This seems to be the correct Alice??.
On the 1900 United States Federal Census - State - New York - County - Kings.
Minnie (Eliza) LOCKLEY - is listed - as- head... with her son Frederick (FRED), so I presume her husband Edward is deceased. Minnie claims she had 6 children and they were all living.
Frederick Henry Lockley appears on other US Census 1910 - 1930 . I have other records for him from Ancestry....U.S. World War 1 Draft Registration -Death & Grave location.
He married sometime before 1910....to a Rose maiden not known. The US Census gives Rose's birth place as 'Austria'.
Gertrude Louisa Phillips ...Petitioned for Naturalization 1935/1936. She died in Los Angeles California in 1953.
Would appreciate any help or suggestions in finding the following.....
Marriage for...Gertrude Louisa Lockley....to ?? CHRISTY.
Marriage for...Frederick Henry Lockley ..before 1910...to Rose.. mn..unknown.
Death....Edward LOCKLEY...before..1900.
Death.....Eliza Minnie Lockley....before...1910?
Any information as to what happened to....
Alice Mary, James Ernest, Edith Elizabeth and Ethel Charlotte.
My apologies for the length of this request....but I would like to put them all to rest...if at all possible.
Many thanks....
