« on: Sunday 09 September 12 13:53 BST (UK) »
Hi

Can anyone relate or add to the family of John Jones Cae Doeg Eglwysbach:

Elizabeth Jones bc 1816 m William Williams of  LLanelian son of George Fishley c1844 Eglwysbach, her father noted as John Jones Cae Doeg...

I have no mothers name.

In the 1841 census there is a John Jones of Cae Doeg aged 70 yrs, living with him are a set of twins namely Jane and Elin Jones bc 1831.

Other inf re: Cae Doeg though don't know it it relates to my John Jones:

Burial of Dorothy Kyffin June 15th 1832 aged 74 yrs

Burial of Elizabeth Jones Feb 11th 1839 aged 50yrs  (poss Eliz. 1816 mother?)

Thank you for any help...much appreciated

regards

Aled

The record is also on freereg and there is a note that the child was listed as Elizabeth Jones

The parents residence for the 1815 record is Maes y Groes(copyright Clwyd FHS).

Elizabeth died  22nd Nov 1894 aged 78...so 1816 is more likely

Thinking about it now, the John Jones of the 1841 census would have been abt 46 years old at the time of Elizabeth's birth in 1816, and 60 when the twins were born in 1831!!!

I presume that JJ died between the 1841 and 1851,Elizabeth gets married,  but there's no sign of the twins...

All this makes me think that JJ born 1767-1771 may have had a son JJ who is the father of Elizabeth...

just found this (clwyd mi's)

Elizabeth (wife of John) JONES, Caedoig buried APRIL 11th 1839 aged 50 yrs

So: John Jones and Elizabeth are the parents of Elizabeth b1816

EJ birth would be c1788 therefore a marriage of c1809

Aled

also: Ann/e dau of 20/2/1825 of John Jones & Elizabeth Jones

If Elizabeth is John Jones' wife, then the Maes y Groes record is obviously irrelevant.
FamilySearch has the following Eglwysbach marriages for John Jones

1805  Elizabeth Hughes
1808  Elizabeth Jones
