Who Did Thomas Steen Marry?

Thomas Steen is showing in the 1891 Census at Wrexham as married to a Martha who is given as born in Wrexham in c 1868.RG12/4618/78/17.

They are showing with a daughter Mary J given as five months old.Despite my best efforts I'm unable to find a marriage of a Thomas Steen to a Martha anywhere.I have even found Great-grandchildren of the couple but I'm unable to add them yet as I will not add without finding the marriage.I take an extreme dislike to adding anyone with an unknown surname to my Tree.

Maybe they wed after the child was born.
Did Thomas have any second name?

Thanks PaulineJ,I know of no other name for Thomas,I believe his birth is recorded in the Jan/Feb/Mar quarter of 1862 in the Wrexham District.

to either a

Martha Jones or Elizabeth Parsonage

Other Groom,William Henry Holmes

Thanks omega,they are showing though with a daughter Mary J in 1891.There wouldn't be any doubt over his surname,his parents married in 1858.

I have had another look but that is the only marriage that came up.
Another possiblity is that the marriage did`nt make it to the GRO.

I would`nt rule the marriage out.

One of my Welsh Greatgrandmothers parents married after she was born .So it does happen.

Well we have come to learn anything is possible with our family history.However as things stand I'm looking for a marriage ideally before the birth of Mary J.There is a son Thomas John born in 1893.Both are named as Steen on North Wales BMD and subsequent life records.Thomas senior is with his Grandmother Jane Parker in Overton Flintshire in 1881.

Have you thought about asking The Registrars Office to do a search for you ?

Just an idea.

We have an original Death Cert,1976.Out of pure curiosity i looked on FindMyPast & it is missing off the Index.

We have had loads of Shocks/Surprises since i have been researching Mine & Husbands Families

Its a thought I suppose thanks.I've even looked at the possibility that Thomas and Martha may have emigrated,got married abroad and returned to the UK.Nothing is showing as such though.
