Looking for information on George Anderson who was born in Bathgate in 1901.
He played Soccer in the 1920,s for the Canadian National Soccer Team.
Information on his Parents or siblings would be most appreciated,

On his shipping manifest entry into Canada in 1921 he stated his birth place as Deans, Bathgate.

There is this entry in 1901 which might connect:

On another manifest in 1924, he has taken up citizenship and is returning to Canada. He shows coal mining as his occupation in Canada (apart from travelling abroad as part of the Canadian Football Team!).

This George's parents may have died in Canada (going by online trees). Father George McQueen Anderson is down as having died on 1 Mar 1946 in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia (born 3 Jan 1875 in Bathgate) and wife Isabel/Isabella Taylor Reid died in the same place on 12 November 1948. Isabella's birth down as 22 April 1877 in Dennistoun, Glasgow. Her parents, a James Reid and a Jane Shearer Taylor.

George Jnr showing as having died on 25 May 1975 in Vancouver (there is a correspoding death showing on the index with these details). Birth date given as 2 Dec 1900 in Bathgate. He married a Sadie Malone on 7 April 1924 in Nanaimo, BC.

Thank you so much for all your information and help.
I came across George Anderson by accident and was wondering if he was one of mine,alas i don't think so.
Still a fascinating story to think that an Anderson born in Bathgate played footie for the Canadian National team and even toured Australia,

George Anderson was my great-uncle (by marriage).  His wife Sarah/Sadie was my grandmother's (Mary Malone) younger sister.
