« on: Friday 14 September 12 23:35 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Can anyone please decipher and locate this place name.  The 1818 context is "??? estate in the parishes of Llanbedr and Llanfair in the said county of Merioneth"

I was about to post my reply when jimbach replied.

My message:-

I think this is Dolwreiddiog.

If you go to the 1881 census and search on Cathrine (note spelling) Jones b 1850 in Llanfair, Merionethshire. She is the husband of John Morgan Jones b 1746 in Llandanwg.

Go to http://www.old-maps.co.uk and enter the name. This will take you straight to it. The 1901 1:2500 map is best to see the building.

Regards,
David
