Hi Liz

Thank you for that information.

The man I am interested in was asking for help from the British Legion his name was Charles Walton. so perhaps he was in the poor house. I believe he was born Charles Wharton son of George Wharton and Mary Cowlishaw.
Its a long story and he, Charles told so many lies its taken me years to try and figure it all out, but i think im slowly getting there.

Thanks again Lesley

Hi Lesley

My eyes opened wide when I stumbled upon your post. This Mary Cowlishaw is the sister of my great great great grandfather so I'm interested to know if you have the details of marriage of Mary and George Wharton?. I have quite a lot of information about Mary's ancestry if you are interested. Thanks.
Kind Regards
Andy
