Victor, Colorado~ deaths
« on: Friday 28 September 12 20:39 BST (UK) »
Hello Listeners

Does SKS know where (If at all) I might find death registers/notices or the like for early 1905 in Victor, Colorado?  I have looked through the local papers available on the web for the area and have had no joy finding any notice of the death, which was reported briefly in the British papers.  The young lady concerned ~ Elizabeth Beckwith ~ was British and had gone over to USA in late 1890s as an "artiste", I suspect that she was with some kind of entertainment troupe travelling around the country.

Any thoughts on how I might investigate this death further would be very helpful ~ thanks

Margaret

According to this item from the Colorado Dept. of Public Health - http://www.rootschat.com/links/0req/ - Teller Co., where Victor is located, has deaths going back to 1902, so you might be able to order the death certificate from Colorado.  There is information on doing that here - http://www.colorado.gov/cs/Satellite/CDPHE-CHEIS/CBON/1251594690959

There is some information about genealogy in that area and an e-mail for a local librarian here - http://www.victorcolorado.com/families.htm
